How long does it really take to build a swimming pool?
From the day of excavation it should take about thirty working days, which is 6 weeks. Remember though, from the day you sign the contract other things have to happen before the pool can be excavated, such as:
Will I be required to be home during the swimming pool construction process?
No. There are only a few times those we need you to be home during construction - the day the swimming pool is excavated and the day that the electrician and gas people are there. You will also need to water down the gunite structure 2 to 3 times a day for about 7 days as well as turn the water off after the pool is filled to the middle of the tile line.
Am I going to have to spend hours each week taking care of my swimming pool?
Pools can be built so you only have to spend about 20 minutes a week on maintenance. Most builders feel that price is the only thing that matters, and build them so you have to spend about 2 to 3 hours a week on maintenance. Many things that make the pool easier to take care of are options and usually do cost more money. We include some of these things in our free upgrades because we know that you want to spend time in your pool, not working on your pool.
Can a swimming pool add value to my house?
Yes, it can. Normally you can get somewhere between 30% to 75% of the value of the pool added to the cost of your house. The more you decorate the backyard with landscaping, the more you will get back on the sale.
Do certain swimming pool shapes cost less than others?
Yes, curved and free form shaped swimming pools are less expensive than rectangled swimming pools. Pools are priced by the perimeter of the swimming pool. The tile line around the pool is measured in feet and will give you the number (in perimeter feet) from which the pricing will be based.
Is it possible to get a swimming pool for the really low prices I see advertised?
Swimming Pools can be built at a very low price. But most of these "incredible deals" are nothing more than a bait-and-switch tactic to get you to call. To build a pool at a low price, quality would be compromised. The cost of the pool may be cheap, but your time and money spent for the up keep of the pool could be 4 to 5 times more than if the pool was built right in the beginning.
Are there warranties to protect my investment?
Warranties are very important. Always compare the warranties of every builder with whom you talk. Make sure all warranties are in writing, not verbal. Remember one thing: the warranty is only as good as the paper on which they are written.
Is it cheaper to buy a swimming pool in the winter?
No, during the spring and summer, we usually get price increase on the equipment and materials we use in the building of your pool. If you wait until the winter, the price has increased twice, if not three times. Especially, with the price of gas these days, we are receiving atleast two items a month that have increased in price. You may receive a small discount on a price of a pool that has increased two or three times.
