Hire A Designer
The best way to get the job done well is to hire a real designer that has the right design tools. If you're going to spend the money anyway, be sure to use a professional, someone who has experience laying out pools. Using one of our pool designers to design your pool will get you more than a nice design -- it will get you an education on the features and equipment options available to you. Our designers will know all about cleaning systems, water purification systems, automatic controls, different pool and deck finishes and so forth.
You want to make your swimming pool an inviting place, a special oasis in which you and your family can relax and really look forward to spending time. You are about to expend a good deal of time, effort, and expense, so you will really want it to be pleasurable.
So You're Not An Architect
You can choose one of the many pool designs furnished in our Design Center. There you will find we have a wide variety of pool shapes and sizes. Viewing other swimming pool designs will generate ideas for you -- for those who have a little of the designer in themselves. Or, you can ask one of our custom designers to go over your ideas with a FREE on site consultation and photo quality 3-Dimensional picture and tour of your proposed swimming pool design and landscaping.
Being Prepaired:
Be sure you carefully compare the costs and benefits of the expensive options you may be offered by a pool "salesman". For instance, an automatic water leveler is well worth the minor expense, as is a chlorine feeder. But how about that in-ground pool cleaning system? It may be slick and high-tech, no doubt, but is the extra expense worth it to you? If the idea of a vacuum hose floating in the water doesn't bother you, it will do just as nice a job for one-half to one-third of the cost!
Remember, every pool builder is different; some will be able to offer options that the others just don't support. While optional extras like pebble finishes, in-ground cleaners, and fiber-optic and L.E.D lighting are becoming increasingly common, not all builders will offer them. Besides, there are always new features being introduced as technology improves.
