Master Formation Pools and Spas – Planning
PLANNING
When working with your pool designer, gather all of the important information you will need before the actual construction begins. You will need things like plot plans for the home and building codes from the city. Here is a general checklist of the things you will need to gather for yourself, or have our designer furnish for you:
PREPPING FOR CONTRACTORS
Before you have a truly complete design, you or your designer will need to go over some things -- there is paperwork to collect, and there are decisions to make. The lists below outline some of the things you'll need to provide the designer.
Paperwork
- Plot plan or survey of your site, (from the county recorder or the title company). This is a "plan" (an overhead view) of the piece of property upon which you will be building the pool.
Physical Requirements (We take care of this during initial consultation)
- Electrical Run. Where will you get your electrical needs for your pool equipment -- where is your breaker box? How much electricity will you need for the equipment you choose?
- Water Run. Where is the water source for your pool (the nearest outdoor water spigot)?
- Drainage requirements. Does the grade elevation require drainage away from pool and house?
Being Prepaired:
Ask your designer about their construction knowledge; if they seem uncertain or if they dodge the question, call another one until you feel comfortable with their expertise.
